Frequently Asked Questions
What is Software as a Service (SaaS) ?
Your website is provided to you as “Software as a Service”.
This means you are not buying a website, but paying a modest subscription for the right to use the website. It means we own the website, its design and all the associated intellectual property rights associated with the work we carried out.
The benefits to you are that you have no or very little upfront costs. You can enjoy the benefits of having a web presence with virtually no capital outlay. Secondly, you are taking no risk: should you wish to stop using the website, or use a different website at any point, you can cancel your subscription.
Of course, you cannot cancel the subscription and use the website elsewhere without paying for it: you can purchase the intellectual property rights by paying the equivalent of 24 months of subscription fees, less what you have already paid (see our other section on cancellation elsewhere in this FAQ for more details).
Why is it so cheap ?
If you think about the costs of a website spreader over a period of 2 or 3 years, roughly the time before it becomes to look a bit dated, our price is £30 x 24, which is £720.
Now that’s not expensive. It’s not cheap. It’s affordable.
We think the way we price our work should reflect how you use it, not how much it costs us to design it. When you are starting a new project, you don’t want to be allocating a large sum of your available cash to your website on your first month when, in effect, you will be using it and gaining the benefits from it over several years. It’s better for you to be spreading the costs of it over its life.
In return, we are looking to establish a long term relationship with your organisation. We hope that you will trust us with your website and perhaps some of its related services. And that, over several years.
Of course, we are taking a risk. You might decide to stop your subscription, for whatever reason, and we would have spent a lot of time and lose a valuable customer. But we can say we did our best to help you out and frankly, if things don’t work out for whatever reason, we think it’s fair that you shouldn’t have to pay for something you don’t use.
How long is the subscription for and when can I cancel ?
Your subscription to our service is for as long or as short as you want it to be.
If you are unhappy with our service, you can cancel the subscription, at any time. If you cancel before having paid for 24 months, the website and all of the intellectual property rights we own remain ours.
If you want to walk away with the website, and use it with another service provider, you can purchase the right to use the website anywhere else by paying us a sum equivalent to 24 months of subscription, less what you have already paid in subscription fees for that website. Please note that to make the website function outside of our servers, you may need to purchase different software licences, which total around £100. You should hire a new web design company that will know what to do with the technology we use.
Likewise, if we think you are abusing the service we offer, we reserve the right to cancel your subscription, at any time. If we do so, we will give you 30 days notice, and will make available to you or your designated service provider all of the content of the website that you own or that you supplied (copy, images, videos and any other media you supplied).
Fair is fair. We believe good relationships last because both parties want them to, not because they have to.
What happens when I sign-up ?
Upon signing-up, you will be asked to choose which package you want to go for. We will then setup and automatic monthly payment for your chosen package, and take the first payment. You will then be assigned your digital assistant, who will give you a call or send an email to explain what is going to happen, and help you provide us with the information we need to build your website.
How long will it take you to build my website ?
Once we have all the information we need, it doesn’t take long to build. Maybe a 2 or 3 days. The longest part is getting all the information we need from you. That, plus the build time, usually takes between 1 and 2 weeks. So the sooner you can get all the information we need, the faster we can build your site.
How do I send the information you need to build the website ?
We will ask you to fill in a form online, telling us more about you, your organisation, your customers, your competitors, your preferences and generally what you want the website to do for you. We will also clarify the situation with your domain name, your email boxes, your logo, etc.
Can I change my mind on the design ?
Yes. At all times, but certain aspects, such as colour and font schemes, are best not changed during the design process. Before your site goes live you will be able to review it, and have most aspects changed easily. You can always change your mind later anyway.
